THE INVISIBLE MAN - REVIEW

The Invisible Man By H.G Wells is classic science fiction novel which was published in the year 1897. It was one of H.G Well's most famous works. It is the story of an ingenious research scientist named Griffin. Griffin successfully devolops a poccess by which he could turn physical objects invisible. After performing his experiment on a cat, he performs it on himself. But, he soon discovers that it is impossible to survive like this. Griffin hurted many people to find clothes, food and sheltor. He was a person mad of rage. After he gets almost caught in Iping he meets Mr Thomas Marvel and uses Mr Marvel as a tool for his own advantage while blackmailing Marvel that he would kill him if he would not do his work. He uses Mr. Marvel to get back his clothes and his three precious books. But he could only retrive his three books from Iping. Then when Mr. Marvel betrays him by stealing his money and the his three books, the invisible man almost kills Mr. Marvel. When griffin went to the "Jolly Cricketers" to kill Marvel he got shot. Then he went to one of his old friend Dr. Kemp's house. Where he said his story to Dr. Kemp. Kemp inturn betrayed Griffin by handing him over to the police. If Dr. Kemp hadn't done so then Griffin would have established a 'reign of terror' in Port Burdock. When that happens Griffin's rage goes out of control and he murders Mr Wicksteed. The Invisible Man is the ultimate story of an insane anti-hero, before insane anti-heroes became popular. Griffin himself becomes more and more pathetic as the story progress and from the comical start Wells moves away to a darker, subtle satire of small minds in small towns can be just as dangerous as any psychopath. One of the foundational texts of science fiction, The Invisible Man has inspired numerous film and TV adaptations and remains chilling in its depiction of scientific experimentation gone wrong.
